Ann Svendsen is a sociologist with expertise in stakeholder engagement and measurement. Ann has been a leader in stakeholder relations for over 20 years, helping corporations and government agencies forge stronger, more strategic, and profitable relationships with their customers, suppliers, employees, and community stakeholders. She has played a significant role in more than a hundred complex and often contentious projects, bringing together representatives of diverse groups with conflicting interests to develop new and innovative solutions and policies
Ann is also an internationally recognized author and speaker on stakeholder issues. Her book The Stakeholder Strategy: Profiting from Collaborative Business Relationships has been acknowledged as the first major publication to lay out a practical approach to building stakeholder relationships.
Ann is a Principal with CoreRelation Consulting Inc., as well as part-time Adjunct Professor and Executive Director of Collective Learning and Innovation at the Centre for Sustainable Community Development (Simon Fraser University). She earned her Masters degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of British Columbia in 1978.
